What does a deposit prove?
A deposit helps document the existence, date and content of your files. Under Article 41 of eIDAS, qualified electronic timestamps benefit from a presumption of accuracy of the date and time and of integrity of the associated data. The Certified offer adds evidence relating to the depositor’s identity.
Copyright generally arises without registration where the legal requirements are met. A deposit does not itself decide originality or ownership. The effect of evidence outside the EU depends on applicable law.
Which offer should I choose?
Choose Express for timestamping without file retention. Choose Standard for secure retention and additional deposits. Choose Certified when verified identity and the depositor’s signature are also needed.
